The self-paced premarital counseling course for heterosexual, LGBTQIA+, and polyamorous couples.
50 chapters. Work at your own pace. Built on The Before I do Method™.
Three kinds of couples do this course.
Engaged couples
You're planning a wedding — and you want the marriage to be as prepared as the day. Work through the 50 chapters together, on your schedule, before the wedding.
Couples preparing to remarry
Second marriages carry more history — kids, exes, blended finances, prior grief. This course names the specific work remarrying couples need to do together.
Long-term couples wanting a tune-up
Already married for years and want a structured check-in on communication, intimacy, money, and vision? The 50 chapters work just as well as a mid-marriage reset.
Every conversation that shapes a marriage.
A preview of the 50 chapters — the specific work you and your partner will move through, at your own pace.
+ 30 more chapters — including affair recovery, PTSD in couples, culturally responsive prep, and more.
Built to fit into a real life, not add stress to it.
Four things a real premarital course has to do — and how this one does them.
Self-paced
Log in on your schedule. Move as slow or as fast as your relationship needs.
12-month access
Enroll once. Come back to the chapters any time during your 12-month access window — before the wedding, after, and beyond.
Video + workbook prompts
Short video lessons paired with guided prompts and printable worksheets you complete together.
Works with a therapist or on your own
Complete the course independently, or use it alongside your premarital counselor as structured homework.
Not another generic premarital course.
Built for hetero, LGBTQIA+, and polyamorous couples — together
Most premarital curricula assume one couple structure. This one doesn't. The first course of its kind written to serve every couple in the same room.
Culturally responsive
Cultural difference, family expectations, and identity are not "advanced" chapters here — they're woven through the whole course.
Trauma-informed
The prompts assume you or your partner may be carrying history. Nothing in the course pushes past that; everything gives you language to name it.
Written by a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Every chapter is designed and reviewed by Olivia L. Baylor, LCPC — a practicing clinician, not a content marketer.
Built on original research + clinical practice
The Before I do Method™ was developed inside a working premarital practice — every prompt refined with real couples in the room.
Florida-compliant premarital course
Because this course is approved by the State of Florida as a Premarital Preparation Course, Florida couples who complete it become eligible for the State of Florida's $32.50 marriage license discount and waiver of the state's three-day waiting period.

Do we need a therapist too?
No — the course is fully self-guided and complete on its own. That said, many couples do it alongside a premarital counselor or licensed therapist and use the chapters as structured homework between sessions. Either path works. If you want a clinician trained in this specific method, browse the Premarital Counseling Directory.
How long does it take?
Most couples spread the 50 chapters across two to three months, working one to two chapters per week together. There's no timer and no minimum pace — some couples finish in a month, others take six. Because access is lifetime, you can also pause and return whenever life gets full.
Do we have access forever?
Yes — 12 months of unlimited access. One enrollment covers both partners. Come back to any chapter during your 12-month access window.
What's the refund policy?
Because the full course is digital and available immediately on enrollment, all sales are final. If something isn't working technically, email hello@mymhuniversity.com and we'll make it right.
What if only one of us wants to do the course?
Start anyway. Many couples come in with one partner leading and the other hesitant — and the prompts are written to hold that reality. If your partner won't do the chapters with you, working through them yourself still gives you clearer language for the conversations at home.
Is the course really designed for LGBTQIA+ and polyamorous couples?
Yes — and not as an add-on. It is the first premarital course of its kind written to serve heterosexual, LGBTQ+, and polyamorous couples together, from the first chapter forward. Prompts don't assume gender roles, monogamy defaults, or a single-couple structure. Every chapter is designed to hold whatever configuration your relationship actually is.
